Behzad
is an entrepreneur, graphic artist and award-winning writer whose
work has appeared in many national publications. his first experience
in publishing was as a paperboy when he was 12 years old. That's
when he fell in love with the written word. He went on to write
for his high school newspaper and several newsmagazines at the
University of California Los Angeles, where he completed degrees
in English-American Studies and Political Science. He also created
3 new campus publications and served as their editor-in-chief.
These publications included Armaghan (meaning "gift")
which was his first magazine aimed at the Iranian community.
After
university, Behzad worked his way up the food chain at AdOut,
the nation's largest newspaper advertising production house. Eventually,
as General Manager, he helped the firm reach number 153 on the
Inc. 500 a list of the fastest growing companies
in the United States.
Behzad
has taught seminars and consulted with large daily newspapers
across the United States, including the Los Angeles Times, Milwaukee
Journal-Sentinel, Providence Journal the Miami Herald and many
others... But his passion has always been to work with community-based
periodicals aimed at bringing people together through entertainment
and education. And he has always been proud of his Iranian heritage.
That is why he launched Namak Magazine...
