Jon Gilani is an ethnic Tajik, whose family origins lie in the city of Bukhara, in what is now Uzbekistan. He has an undergraduate degree in Public Relations and an MA in International Relations, both from Boston University. A resident of Manhattan, Jon has had a lifelong interest in the history, cultures, and languages of Central Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. He is fluent in a number of languages, including Tajik, Persian, Uzbek and Pashto.
